Lamborghini Winery

Since 1968
Five years after the successful launch of Automobili Lamborghini in 1963, Ferruccio purchased a plot of land in Umbria and established a vineyard that when on to produce its first fruits in 1975.
The central Italian region is bordered by Tuscany, Lazio and Marche, and is known for producing a large number of grape varietals throughout the undulating lands, particularly mineral whites that mature with elegance – and that is how and where Lamborghini Wine was born.
The Lamborghini Winery History
While luxury Italian sports cars are the first thing that comes to mind when speaking of Lamborghini, the company’s founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, had a second passion.
Automobili Lamborghini S.P.A., founded on May 7, 1963, exceeded Ferruccio's expectations, making Lamborghini a formidable name in the sports car world. But, since 1968 Ferruccio Lamborghini sold the famous automobile business and decided to return to his origins: The land, the rough and sweet land on the border between Umbria and Tuscany.
In 1975, he entered the wine industry, producing "Sangue di Miura" ("Blood of the Bull") with enological supervision. Embracing a renewed spirit, Ferruccio also constructed a hydraulically powered golf course and a car museum. His enduring love for the Miura model persisted until his passing on February 20, 1993, at the age of 77.

His daughter, Patrizia, takes over in the mid-'90s, continuing the pursuit of quality wines and is passionate about the success of the winery because the land connects her to her father. Under Patrizia's stewardship, the estate's vineyards continues to gain global recognition, focusing on Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grechetto. Extensive replanting and meticulous winemaking, supervised by Riccardo Cotarella, have yield high-standard modern wines, showcasing a commitment to quality and the terroir. The extreme search for quality and the will to evidence the characteristics of the territory allowed in 1997 the beginning of a dramatic improvement regarding both management of the vineyards and, consequently, the development of the wines. The result of these efforts brought forth new modern red wines such as Campoleone, Trescone and, recently, Torami. Hence, Lamborghini's legacy is well captured in every bottle, crafted with precision and passion.

Lamborghini Wine now has presence in America, UK, Europe, and Australia. We are so pleased to be bringing the exclusive wines, sparklings, and brandy to Thailand.
The Lamborghini Story

1960 Supercars to Farming
1990 The Legacy Lives On
1968 The Vineyard & Golf Course
After Ferrucio Lamborghini's retirement from the famous car manufacturing activity, he decided to go back to his roots of being a farmer. He purchased a plot of land in the 70’s after travelling and falling in love with the soft rolling hills of Umbria, which is where he established the Lamborghini Estate.
Today, the Lamborghini Estate lies between the south side of the Trasimeno lake and the beautiful medieval village of Panicale. Situated on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, the total area is 100 hectares divided between a 9 holes golf course, an agriturismo and 32 hectare of vineyards.
In the middle of the 90's, the heiress to the Lamborghini Legacy, Patrizia succeeded in the management of the estate pursuing, and even strengthening, that ambition of making quality wines that her father had in the past. Today, the new vineyard is 19 hectares, with future plans of implementing the modern philosophy of high density planting with selected clones.
Founding Team

Founder
Ferruccio Lamborghini
After retiring from the supercar business, Mr. Lamborghini started his winery estate from the ground up in Umbria, Italy with the help of world-class wine makers around the world. His post-automotive venture led him to the La Fiorita estate by Lake Trasimeno in Umbria. In 1975, he entered the wine industry, producing "Sangue di Miura" ("Blood of the Bull") with enological supervision. Embracing a renewed spirit, Mr. Lamborghini also constructed a hydraulically powered golf course and a car museum.
Giorgio Grai
Father of modern winemaking in Italy
A race car driver and “father of modern winemaking in Italy", Mr. Grai is also a dean of Italian oenologists, who has always been able to imagine the future. Far-sighted and a visionary, he was able to anticipate many aspects of today’s oenology by decades, from the enhancement of the longevity of some great Italian wines–especially white–from native grapes, in times when only the most famous red wines of historical areas or the so-called Bordeaux blends enjoyed the attention of most.
Riccardo Cotarella
The Wizard of Winemaking
Mr. Cotarella forged a career, as one of the most important, probably the most important, wine consultant in all of Italy, creating wines acclaimed and award winners across the country and becoming both the president of the Italian oenologists association and also the co-president of the international association.
